THE RHONDDA CAP ( CHRISTIANS AGAINST POVERTY) CENTRE is one of a number of national debt counselling centres across the UK
We are sure that many of you have witnessed firsthand the devastating effect that debt can have on people’s lives. Stress, relationship break-up and hunger are just a few of the negative consequences of a life spent living with crippling debt.
Whilst we can’t underplay the devastation caused by living with unmanageable debt, there is hope and a solution for those who feel that they are out of control with their finances. CAP now ( February 2010) have 123 debt counselling centres across the UK.
Our centre in the Rhondda opened in December 2009 and as a result we are now able to offer our award-winning, free service to members of the local community living in financial crisis.

Our service is practical, long-term and freely available to anyone, regardless of age, race, religion, disability or any other factor. We work with clients until they are debt free, offering a holistic approach that tackles more than just their financial status. Our budgets and plans are manageable and sustainable and we place particular emphasis on saving for the future. This empowers and enables clients to pay their rent on time and in full.
CAP’s work has a proven track-record of empowering people to get debt free and stay debt free, breaking the cycle of poverty for future generations in the process. We have already helped over 36,000 clients across the UK and we receive frequent testimonies from those we’ve helped, stating how their homes have been saved, marriages restored and how their emotional well-being has improved.
